About my work

What I’ve done

Over the past few years, I’ve done quite a bit:

  • Writing documentation for system administrators and cloud administrators, specifically user guides and getting started guides
  • Editing technical curriculum for developer audiences
  • Building and deploying websites using docs-as-code tooling
  • Acting as a core maintainer for The Good Docs Project
  • Building and managing a style guide
  • Teaching English composition to high school students, college students, and adult learners

How I work

If I had to describe how I work as a technical writer, it would be:

  • I thrive on exploration: Diving deep into products helps me to understand them from the user’s perspective.
  • I test, and then I test some more: User testing is a fundamental aspect of my process. By replicating the user’s workflow, I uncover insights, anticipate needs, and identify potential roadblocks.
  • I seek to improve: I look for opportunities to engage stakeholders in discussions about documentation challenges and collaborate to identify solutions that better serve customer needs.
